My Video Daily JukeBox
The jukebox has populated neighborhood bars and watering holes for decades, but with digital streaming services now available to nearly every home and most bar patrons, the vinyl-spinning model is slowly disappearing. One of the largest providers of digital jukeboxes is TouchTunes, which offers both the hardware and the music that goes inside it to over 65,000 restaurants and bars across the United States.
The company’s latest offering is a free Web-based service called MyTouchTunes that lets users create playlists on their laptop or smartphone and then access them at any participating venue. The playlists can be shared with any friends or anyone in the MyTouchTunes network, so they can listen to a curated mix of songs at any time, anywhere.
This software jukebox has a simple interface that lets you browse through your media library, local folders (including SD card), and streaming sources like YouTube and Spotify Premium. It also includes a “singles mode” that hides playback controls and allows enqueuing songs for a more authentic jukebox experience.
You can also use the jukebox feature to add a song to your photo or video. You can choose from a variety of different effects, including slomo, that will change the speed of the clip, and an auto-dj that will automatically mix songs together.
In the future, the company plans to integrate the jukebox with its new social-media app, and it will allow users to share their playlists on Facebook and Instagram. It also plans to make it possible to buy songs directly through the jukebox.
